ten years

Not sure how this can be true. Today marks 10 years since my dad's passing.
 

They say it gets easier, but it doesn't. There are always those days. When a certain song comes on, every holiday without them, when something important happens in your life.

And then suddenly, memories begin to fade and you struggle to remember their voice.

Missing him more today and with each passing day.

I love you dad.

This year was a summer of weddings!

Hd's cousin Kasey had her wedding reception on April 23rd
-after getting married in a private ceremony in Hawaii-

Hd's cousin Tommy got married on May 6th


& My old friend Brittany got married on May 14th!

30th Birthday

Jd turned 30 on the 9th and the family

spent the day celebrating.

We started the day with a movie at Atlantic Station

to see 'True Grit' which was actually really good!

Then to dinner at Pacci Ristorante, which is connected

to a Hotel that is Pet Friendly. The lobby includes

food and water bowls for puppies, a bed and the menu

offers pup biscuits "for you little one at home!"

The night ended with cake and more family time

at Jd and Brooke's Condo in Atlanta!

One of my all time favorite things regarding the Holidays,

is the taking of Christmas Card Pictures

and the giving and receiving of Christmas Cards!

This weekend we are making out way outside

to do our annual family photo!

destiny

I am a firm believer in destiny.

As most of you know, I'd had a "thing" for hd

since I was ten-years-old.

Our family's have always attended the same church,

we grew up in the same town,

attended the same high school,

(missing each other by one year)

and both ended up going to college

twenty minutes from one another.

Our grandparents

(my dad's parents&his mom's parents)

also spent more than a majority

of their lives living in Athens.

(We've always known this, but never really discussed details.)

This weekend, while attending big mama's

funeral, we learned how our extended family

has played a part in our destiny.

Our grandparents not only lived minutes

down the road from one another, but also

attended the same church, and are also

buried at the same cemetery.

I'm proud to say, God had this planned out long

before the crush started when I was ten! :)

here's to forever with my bestfriend.

last week we lost a very sweet woman.

hd's grandmother "big mama" passed away.

big mama has been fighting alzheimer's for about five or so years.

very sad to see her go, but she truly is in a better place now.

Old Friends

This weekend we went to Augusta to visit my little cousins

who really aren't soo little anymore...

And celebrate the wedding of Michelle and Ben!

It was so much fun hanging with Mia and Michelle!

I've missed them so much since I left ae and the

reunion was much needed!!

Congratulations Michelle and Ben!

Good Friday

Today is Good Friday.

Good Friday has the obvious meaning,

but then there is a more personal meaning for me.

On Good Friday Seven Years Ago,

I lost my dad.

How ironic is it, that Nicholas Sparks Book

"The Last Song" also hit theaters this week

-wednesday, to be exact-

With all the hype about "The Last Song"

-mainly because Miley Cyrus plays the main part-

It has gotten over looked what the movie is really about...

A young girl losing her father.

So in honor of Good Friday, my Dad and Nicholas Sparks,

hd and I will be spending the day at an afternoon

viewing of "The Last Song"

-I mean, if it's already going to be a sad day, why not welcome the tears?-

If you have not gone and seen the movie,

I suggest you do so!

But most importantly, buy the book!!!

Read it and have a gooood cry!

It is one worth owning!

snow day

Today was a perfect snow day!

Hd had the day off so we spent the day

running errands before the snow started coming down!

Tonight we plan on watching movies and

watching the snow come down before

we go and play in it tomorrow! :)

Family Fun

This weekend we went to my sister and Josh's loft

in Atlanta to celebrate Josh's Dad's birthday!

We had alot of fun just visiting and hanging out!

And we were way over due for some time with Hannah and Yoric!

Yay for Family Fun!!!

Merry Christmas

Christmas was great this year!

We spent Christmas Eve with my family

followed by our Christmas Eve service at church!

When we arrived home, Santa had come early!!! :)

We got to open presents from my parents and Sophie

got to open her stocking! :)

Christmas morning, I couldn't seem to sleep, and was up at 7:30!!

So I woke up hd and the little girl and we opened presents from each other!

We then went to hd's parent's house and had lunch, opened presents,

made a gingerbread house, and watched only the best Christmas movie ever....

Chevy Chase National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!!!!

Also, I got Apples to Apples for Christmas,

so Megan and Dusty, yall have to come down

and play with us!!! :)
